Politehnica University of Timisoara is among the 3 universities in Romania, and 132 worldwide, whose students have free access to Kiro through the Kiro for Students programme, backed by Amazon.
What Kiro is
Kiro is a development environment built on artificial intelligence agents, designed to support developers throughout the making of an application, from idea and prototype through to production-ready solutions.
The platform offers tools for AI-assisted development, among them spec-driven development, agents, and event-triggered automations. Students can use it while learning, on university projects, in research, at hackathons or on personal projects.
What students get
- 1,000 credits every month, for 12 months
- free access, with no bank card required
- spec-driven development
- artificial intelligence agents and modern software development tools
How to get access
- create an account at kiro.dev/students, using your UPT institutional email address, or through Google, GitHub or AWS Builder ID
- confirm your student status through SheerID
- once validated, you can start using the programme's benefits
Why it matters
The programme is a chance to work with current AI-assisted software development tools and to build skills that are increasingly sought after in the labour market.
