Admission fees
An admission involves two compulsory fees, paid at different moments: one when you submit your file, the other when you confirm your place. The amounts are almost the same at bachelor's and master's level. What really differs is how many competition sections a single registration fee covers.

The four fees of an admission
The first two are compulsory for every candidate. The third concerns only the recognition of previous studies, and the fourth arises only after admission, on fee-paying places.

Pre-registration, at bachelor's level
Registering during the pre-registration period costs 100 lei instead of 150. The reduction does not apply to distance learning, nor to the calendar for Romanians living abroad, because neither has a pre-registration period. The faculty's distance-learning Informatics programme falls under this exception.
International candidates
For citizens of a European Union state, of the European Economic Area, of the United Kingdom and of Switzerland, the fees are the same as for Romanian candidates. Candidates from outside the European Union follow a separate admission procedure, published by the university.
How much a single fee covers
This is the one rule on the page that costs money if it is read wrongly. It differs between the two levels.

At bachelor's level
One fee covers two competition sections
A single registration fee lets you apply to at most two competition sections. Applying to more than two means going through the registration process in Enroll again and paying a further fee for each additional two sections.

At master's level
One fee covers a single competition section
Within the section you have paid for, you can select any number of master's programmes, in order of preference, at no extra cost.
Applying to a second section, however, means a second registration fee, in full.

At confirmation
One enrolment fee for each place kept
A candidate admitted to several sections or faculties chooses at most two of them and pays an enrolment fee for each.
Of those two, at most one can remain a state-funded place. The other carries a tuition fee.
Three ways to pay
The same at bachelor's and master's level. For a bank transfer, the payment details must identify both the candidate and what is being paid for, in very little space.

- 02By bank transferTo Politehnica University of Timisoara, IBAN RO90 BACX 0000 0030 1782 5061, tax code 4269282, held at UniCredit Bank. Proof of payment is then uploaded to the candidate account.
- 03In cashAt the faculty's admission centre, during the registration period.
The payment reference
Space is limited, so the information is abbreviated: what is being paid for, the faculty, the session and the candidate's name. The university publishes the model:
Tx. însc. L, UPT, RIA, sep. 2026, Surname Forename
For enrolment, the abbreviation starts with Tx. înm. instead of Tx. însc.
The categories exempt from paying the fee
Exemption is not granted automatically. It is requested when you apply, and the supporting document is uploaded together with the file, not afterwards.

- 01Financial hardshipA monthly family income below the national minimum wage over the last twelve months. The Admission Board also decides cases in which health problems prevent payment.
- 02Candidate from a care homeOn the basis of a certificate issued by the responsible social protection institution.
- 03Single-parent familyFor candidates under twenty-six, raised by one parent.
- 04Orphaned of one or both parentsFor candidates under twenty-six.
- 05Wounded in the 1989 RevolutionOn the basis of the wounded fighter title issued under Law no. 341/2004.
- 06Parent working or having worked in educationFor candidates under twenty-six, including where the parent has retired from education.
- 07University employeeTeaching and support staff of Politehnica University of Timisoara.
- 08Romanians living abroadCandidates who belong to the community of Romanians living abroad and who apply for the places reserved for them are exempt from the registration fee. At master's level they are also exempt from the enrolment fee.
- 09Bachelor's thesis awarded a faculty prizeApplies only at master's level: a graduate awarded a prize by the faculty where they defended their bachelor's thesis, for the exceptional quality of that thesis, if they apply to a master's programme of the same faculty.
- 10Poli Camp competition prizewinnerApplies only at bachelor's level and only to the enrolment fee, not to the registration fee. The prize voucher is submitted to the faculty's Admission Board.

Paying the registration fee
The fee is paid when you submit your file, directly on the university's platform. Without it, the file does not enter the competition.
