How the exam is conducted
The rules below belong to Politehnica University of Timisoara and apply to all its faculties. The source is the university's page on final examinations.
- 01Types of examinationAt bachelor's level the examination has two parts: an assessment of fundamental and specialist knowledge, then the defence of the bachelor's thesis or diploma project. At master's level there is a single part, the public defence of the dissertation.
- 02Examination periodsThree per academic year: June and July, the main period, free of charge; September, a fee-paying period; February, by re-enrolment, for resits.
- 03RegistrationThe file contains the paper in printed or electronic form, the final similarity report, the declaration of authenticity, proof of fee payment where applicable, and any further documents required by the faculty.
- 04Sitting the examinationThe knowledge assessment is taken in writing or orally, with the syllabus and bibliography published at least 30 days in advance. The defence is public, before the examination board; in exceptional cases it may be held online.
- 05Originality checkAll papers pass through a nationally recognised anti-plagiarism system, under Ministerial Order 3692/2024. The maximum accepted threshold is 35%. Above it, the paper is rejected for that examination period. The paper submitted must be identical to the one checked.
- 06PassingAt bachelor's level a minimum mark of 5.00 is required in each part and a final average of at least 6.00. At master's level the minimum mark is 6.00. Results are published within 48 hours, and oral parts cannot be appealed.
