The route through admission, from account to confirmation
The procedure belongs to Politehnica University of Timisoara and is the same for all its faculties. This page transcribes the official bachelor's and master's guides, noting at each stage what differs between the two levels.
Two sessions in an academic year
The same structure at bachelor's and master's level. The exact dates are published by the university for each session.

The account
Registering on the Enroll platform
Applications are made on Enroll, the admission platform of Politehnica University of Timisoara, the same for all eleven faculties. The faculty does not run a separate platform.
Candidates from outside the European Union apply on Apply, the university's dedicated platform.

The file
Filling in your details and uploading documents
In your account you fill in your personal details and upload the required documents, scanned legibly and in full. The complete list is published by the university for each session.
Programmes taught in English also require a language certificate. Candidates without one sit the university's English examination.

Your choices
Choosing sections and the order of preference
Programmes are grouped into competition sections. In the form you choose the section and the programmes you want, in order of preference, and whether you are applying for a state-funded or a fee-paying place.
At master's level, one registration fee allows you to apply within a single section. To apply to more than one section, a separate fee is paid for each.

Submission
Sending the file and the identification code
Once the registration fee has been paid, or proof of exemption uploaded, the file is submitted through the platform. On validation, the candidate receives a unique identification code by email.
The university has admission centres in Timisoara and in six other cities in the west of the country, where free help is given with scanning documents and completing the file.

The competition
How candidates are ranked
At bachelor's level, the competition is either on file, calculated from baccalaureate results, or by entrance tests. The faculty's programmes fall under two different university calendars, according to the type of competition.
At master's level, the competition is organised by the faculty and usually consists of an interview, an essay or the presentation of a portfolio. The university also allows it to be held online.

Confirmation
Keeping the place you have been given
At bachelor's level there are three rounds of results and confirmations. A candidate not admitted in one round automatically stays in the next, if places become free.
Confirming means paying the enrolment fee and submitting the required documents, within the deadline in the calendar. Without confirmation in time, the place is lost and reallocated.
How the order of candidates is decided
This is the only part where bachelor's and master's admission work by different rules.
At bachelor's level
Ranking is done either by file competition, calculated from baccalaureate results, or by entrance tests. The faculty's programmes fall under two different university calendars, according to the type of competition that applies to them.
There are also alternative routes to admission, for prizewinners at recognised olympiads and competitions and for high-level athletes.
At master's level
The admission mark is calculated using a formula published by the university, which combines the bachelor's result with the test organised by the faculty and with how closely the fields match.

- The result of the test organised by the faculty.
- kThe compatibility coefficient
- A value from 0 to 5, measuring how close the bachelor's field completed is to the master's field chosen.
On some programmes, the interview mark can be replaced by the average of the years of study, and an outstanding final thesis can be treated as the maximum mark. The conditions are set for each programme.
Two fees at different moments
The structure is the same at bachelor's and master's level. The amounts are published by the university for each session.
- 01The registration feePaid at the moment you enter the competition. Certain categories of candidate are exempt, on the basis of supporting documents uploaded to the account.
- 02The enrolment feePaid after the results are published, to confirm the place obtained. It is also paid in order to stay in the competition for the following rounds.

At master's level, paying the registration fee gives the right to apply within a single competition section. Applying to a second section means a second fee.
Rules that are easy to miss
Points from the university's guides that decide, in practice, whether a candidate keeps or loses a place.
- 01Places with a special purposeThe university allocates separate places for secondary school graduates from rural areas, for candidates with disabilities, for high-level athletes and for Romanian candidates living abroad. At master's level there are places for Roma candidates, for candidates from care homes and for candidates with special educational needs.
- 02AppealsAppeals are submitted in writing to the faculty registry, within twenty-four hours of the results being published. They are examined by a separate board, and the decision is communicated within twenty-four hours of the deadline for submission closing.
- 03Reallocation at master's levelPlaces left free after non-confirmations are reallocated. Candidates ranked with an admission mark of at least 6.00 may be given a place.
- 04A place obtained at a lower preferenceA place obtained at a preference other than your first should still be confirmed, because only then does the candidate stay in the competition for the following rounds.

- Where do you actually apply?
- On Enroll, the university's admission platform, at enroll.upt.ro. Candidates from outside the European Union use the Apply platform.
- Can you apply to more than one programme?
- Yes. Programmes are chosen in order of preference, within the same competition section. At master's level, applying to a second section means a second registration fee.
- What happens if the place is not confirmed in time?
- The place is lost and reallocated to other candidates. Confirming in time is the only thing that guarantees keeping it.
- What are the exact dates of the session?
- They are published by the university for each session, separately by type of competition. The calendars appear on the faculty's calendar page and on the university's platform.
